Glob-el has received the three-star PRS Green Label 2026, the highest rating awarded by Pallet Return Service (PRS), recognising the company’s strong performance in returning pallets used to transport raw materials for production.
The three-star rating is awarded to companies that return 96–100% of their pallets for reuse, helping keep valuable materials in circulation and reducing the need for new timber.
Žydrūnas Jonušas, Logistics Manager at Glob-el, said: “Achieving three stars shows that pallet returns are an integral part of how we manage logistics every day.
“Every pallet returned to the pool is one that does not need to be replaced with a newly manufactured one. Our team works hard to coordinate collections, sorting and storage to maximise returns. Through the PRS network, these efforts contribute to more sustainable supply chains across Europe.”
The PRS Green Label recognises companies with pallet return rates above 65%, with ratings ranging from one to three stars. According to PRS, every seven pallets returned and reused save one tree. By extending pallet lifecycles, the pooling system helps reduce timber consumption, minimise waste and support circular logistics.
The award reflects one part of Glob-el’s wider approach to reducing its environmental impact. The company’s production runs entirely on green energy, with renewable power helping to reduce the carbon emissions associated with manufacturing.
Glob-el also recycles plastic generated during production. By recovering and reprocessing this material, the company reduces waste and the need for virgin raw materials.
Raimundas Mockus, Production Manager at Glob-el, said: “Sustainability is not a single project for us. It is reflected in decisions made across the entire operation.
“Running production on 100% green energy and recycling plastic waste are changes that customers may not always see, but they are important steps towards more responsible manufacturing. The PRS Green Label recognises one part of this work and reinforces the fact that efficiency and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.”
The PRS pooling system brings together producers, converters, carriers, depots, traders and distributors to keep pallets in circulation for as long as possible. Glob-el’s three-star rating recognises its contribution to this shared effort and underlines the role that efficient resource management can play in building more circular supply chains.
